Intrepid Museum

Pier 86, West 46th Street, New York, NY 10036

Aircraft, a submarine, a space shuttle, and the aircraft carrier itself make the Intrepid Museum a strong history and engineering day for school-age children and teens at Pier 86. Seasonal hours run longer on summer weekends than in winter, so confirm the current day before you leave.

Families can borrow sensory bags, preview noise and wheelchair conditions in a sensory guide, and use free registered access programs, including quieter early openings and separate sessions for children, teens, and adults. Personal care assistants enter free.

Reserve access programs when neurodiverse planning is the priority, or pick a quieter weekday if you want ordinary admission with the sensory guide in hand.

Cost: Paid admission; children ages 0-4 and personal care assistants supporting visitors with disabilities enter free; access programs are free with advance registration
