San José Municipal Rose Garden

San José Municipal Rose Garden is a free, walk-in picnic among more than 4,000 rose shrubs and 189 varieties. No admission ticket or reservation is required for ordinary visits, and non-reservable picnic areas are first come, first served.

April through November is the principal bloom season, so timing matters if roses are the whole point. Bring a blanket and keep the plan flexible for a casual first date.
