SFUSD Dual Language Immersion Pathways

SFUSD offers TK-8 dual-language immersion pathways in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Korean, with school and grade availability varying by language. TK and first-grade applicants may seek non-native-speaker seats without prior proficiency.

Later entry generally requires a proficiency assessment through the district Enrollment Center, especially for grades 2 through 8 when a student is not continuing from a matching pathway. That assessment step is the make-or-break detail for mid-elementary transfers.
