Greater Vancouver Zoo

Greater Vancouver Zoo is a 120-acre Aldergrove destination with more than 60 species and about three kilometres of wheelchair-accessible paved pathways. Toddlers 2 and under enter free, and children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The zoo encourages wagons or non-motorized wheels for the long walk between habitats. Pay parking is listed separately from admission, so budget both before you leave home.

Save this for a day when the drive to Aldergrove is already worth it. It is a full family outing, not a quick neighbourhood loop, and teens usually do better with a planned lunch stop midway.
