Fitzgerald Marine Reserve and Dardenelle Trail
200 Nevada Avenue, Moss Beach, CA 94038
Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Moss Beach protects tide pools with crabs, sea stars, mollusks, fish, and other intertidal life. Tide-pool access varies with tides and shoreline conditions and is not represented as wheelchair accessible.
The separate Dardenelle Trail is a 0.3-mile, fairly level route through cypress and riparian habitat, with paved and soil surfaces and an official disability-accessible designation. Use the trail when mobility needs rule out scrambling the rocks.
Check tide charts before you promise tide pools, wear shoes that can get wet, and keep expectations honest about slippery shoreline access.
Cost: No admission fee listed by San Mateo County Parks
