Lakewold Gardens

Lakewold Gardens in Lakewood is ten acres of formal and woodland garden for an unhurried outdoor date. Plan at least an hour, bring a picnic if you like, and stay on paths and lawns. Snacks and nonalcoholic drinks are welcome; alcohol, smoking, and vaping are not.

Adult admission is $12 (seniors and military $10). Pierce County and Tacoma library attraction passes help, and Third Thursdays from April through September are pay-what-you-can. Hours are generally Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mobility varies by area. Grounds near Wagner House are mostly flat on crushed rock, while Circle Drive pea gravel and woodland slopes or steps can be harder. One wheelchair is available, and Visitor Services can help you plan a low-mobility route if you call ahead.
