B.C. Marriage Licences

Buy a B.C. marriage licence in person from an authorized issuer before any legal ceremony in the province. The licence costs $100 (nonrefundable), must be purchased within three months of the wedding date, and is printed on the spot with no waiting period.

Only one partner needs to apply, but they must bring primary ID for both people getting married. After registration, the fee also covers your first marriage certificate in the mail.

Use the provincial issuer search for a Service BC or other authorized counter near you, then confirm your officiant is a licensed marriage commissioner or religious official and that you have two witnesses over 19.
