Wave Hill

Wave Hill's 28-acre public garden, greenhouse, gallery, and weekend family art project can work as a calm multigenerational outing in Riverdale, especially on free Thursdays. Ordinary hours run Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and weather or air-quality alerts can change hours or cancel programs.

Wave Hill House, Glyndor Gallery, Perkins Visitor Center, and a cafe terrace route are accessible; the conservatory is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. Manual wheelchairs and personal care attendant admission are free, and an official shuttle runs Thursdays through Sundays to ease the transit approach.

Choose Thursday for free individual admission, and plan building-forward routes when slopes, gravel, grass, or woodchips would slow the group.
