UW Medicine Prenatal Lactation Classes and Support Group

UW Medicine offers free weekly hourlong virtual prenatal lactation classes for its patients, plus a Tuesday 1 p.m. virtual support group for new breastfeeding parents. Board-certified lactation consultants also see families for outpatient visits after hospital discharge.

Use the prenatal class if you want feeding education before birth, then keep the Tuesday Zoom group for early weeks when questions get more specific. Inpatient nurses are lactation-trained too, so hospital and outpatient support can stack.

Register for the prenatal class through UW Medicine, and ask before discharge how your family joins the Tuesday group if the Zoom link is not already in your paperwork.
