Surrey's Folklore Festival spreads cultural workshops, art, storytelling, and performance across four September dates plus a month-long Punjabi heritage and calligraphy exhibition. Free dance workshops run September 2 and 3 from 6 to 8 p.m., a free artist session follows September 5 from 5 to 7 p.m., and the ticketed multicultural gala closes the main program September 6 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The exhibition remains at Newton Cultural Centre from September 1 to 27. Events move among Guru Angad Dev School, Clayton Community Centre, and Bell Performing Arts Centre, so check the venue attached to the piece you want.
Choose one free workshop before buying gala tickets if your family is new to the festival. The gala costs $15 to $25, while the September 5 artist session requires a free RSVP.
