Welcome Baby (First 5 LA)

Welcome Baby is a free, voluntary hospital and home-visiting program for Los Angeles County families who plan to deliver at a participating hospital. Support can include a parent coach, an in-hospital lactation educator visit, a postpartum nurse visit, and help connecting to resources through the baby's early months.

Services are free regardless of income, immigration status, or insurance when eligibility rules are met. You can enroll during pregnancy or at the hospital before discharge. Once you leave the hospital, you can no longer enroll.

Check the participating hospital list before you assume your birth hospital is covered. Sites span Antelope Valley, Downtown, South LA, Long Beach, the San Fernando Valley, and the San Gabriel Valley.
